Dear Massachusetts Advocates,
The state of Massachusetts is considering a bill (HB 430) that would amend current laws to require schools in the state stock epinephrine auto-injectors for use in the event that a student experiences a severe allergic reaction (anaphylaxis). Since approximately 20-25% of epinephrine injections in schools involve children whose allergy was unknown at the time of the reaction, it is incredibly important for schools to be prepared to treat life-threatening anaphylaxis. If schools have access to epinephrine auto-injectors and staff trained to administer the medication, children will not die at school when a snack lands in the wrong hands.
If you live in Massachusetts, please contact your legislators to tell them why epinephrine stocking is so critical and urge them to vote 'yes' on this life-saving bill!
Click here to take action on this bill. Thank you for all of your efforts to make schools a safer place for children in Massachusetts.
Sincerely,
AAFA
